Hyundai at the Geneva Motor Show 2016

- World premiere of IONIQ line-up: world’s first vehicle platform with three electrified powertrains, making low- to zero-emission mobility accessible to everyone

- Announcement of Project IONIQ to create new lifestyles for the future through long-term research and development activities on innovative products and service

- The GO! Special Editions of the i10, i20 and i30 are showcased in each of the colours of the French flag: blue, white and red

At the 86th Geneva International Motor Show 2016 Hyundai Motor is celebrating the world premiere of the All-New Hyundai IONIQ line-up.

All-New IONIQ line-up is the world’s first vehicle platform with three electrified powertrains, making low- to zero-emission mobility accessible to everyone. Alongside the product Hyundai Motor announced Project IONIQ a long-term research and development project to achieve ‘freedom in mobility’ by providing smart and effortless ways to move and live. 

On the stand the GO! Special Editions of the i10, i20 and i30 are celebrating the UEFA EURO 2016 championship. Also, the new Genesis G90 large luxury sedan is celebrating its European premiere, among other exciting news like an additional powertrain option for Hyundai’s compact SUV the Tucson.

The IONIQ Hybrid and IONIQ Plug-in both feature the new Kappa 1.6 GDI, direct injection petrol, four-cylinder engine with a class-leading thermal efficiency of 40 percent, delivering 105 PS and 147 Nm of torque. The engine has been tailored to the hybrid application and is combined with the direct responding, smooth shifting six-speed double clutch transmission – differentiating the IONIQ from its competitors with a more dynamic driving experience.
The IONIQ Hybrid’s electric motor delivers 32 kW (43.5 PS) with maximum torque of 170 Nm, powered by a lithium-ion-polymer battery with 1.56 kWh capacity positioned under the rear seats. In combination with the 1.6-GDI engine, IONIQ Hybrid offers a system output of 103.6 kW (141 PS) rpm and up to 265 Nm of torque accelerating to a top speed of up to 185 km/h with targeted CO2 emissions as low as 79 g/km or lower (combined).

Blue, white and red: Get to know the GO! Special Editions

With GO! as their motto, Hyundai i10, i20 and i30 Special Edition models will share the limelight at the Geneva Motor Show. Hyundai Motor is showing every single new GO! Special Edition, the i10, i20 and i30, in one of the colours of the French flag - blue, white and red - to go with the UEFA European soccer championships that France is hosting this summer and Hyundai is again supporting as a principal sponsor. The GO! Special Edition models offer a great customer benefit.

Compact SUV - Wide powertrain range: Tucson adds diesel with 7DCT to line-up

Five stars in the EURO NCAP safety assessment, five years of unlimited mileage warranty and five powertrain options - Hyundai’s All-New Tucson compact SUV, introduced to the European market in late 2015, is already an alluring offering. Now, Hyundai offers a sixth powertrain option for the Tucson. An efficient 1.7-litre turbo diesel with seven-speed double clutch transmission (7DCT) will be added to attract even more customers. The All-New Tucson has been Hyundai Motor’s fastest-selling European model since sales began in September 2015 with more than 115,000 cars ordered in Europe. The powertrain range of the Tucson that now will be further extended was already one of the widest in the compact SUV segment.
